On Wednesday March 4th, the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity is hosting a community consultation for its new 2SLGBTQ+ museum space!
The museum will be a space where we can expand on the conversation, create a cultural exchange, and showcase our communities’ stories – past, present, and future. We want a museum and education space in which the stories we showcase have room to exist and room to grow.
The space will offer visitors an opportunity to explore Canada’s queer past while engaging with contemporary issues surrounding the 2SLGBTQ+ community today.
CCGSD is hosting community consultations across the country to collect feedback, artifacts, and stories that offer valuable insight into the queer community life and history in Canada. This feedback will be reviewed by our Advisory Committee and will help researchers create proposed topics and storylines for the space that will later inform the development of the museum. The consultation includes a presentation of the proposed museum space and content, and a period for questions and feedback from community members.
Do you want to learn more about the space we are building and what it will offer?
Do you have a story or an artifact you’d like to share?
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to be a part of curating Canada’s first 2SLGBTQ+ museum!
Snacks will be provided, free parking on premises & this venue is wheel-chair accessible.
