The Pro-Choice Society of Lethbridge & Southern Alberta works to provide accurate information about abortions and access to abortion services in our community. Lethbridge Sexual Health Centre

The sexual health centre provides youth-friendly, non-judgemental, and confidential sexual and reproductive health services.

Confidential services include:

  • birth control information, prescriptions and supplies
  • no-cost birth control for those who qualify
  • emergency contraception (e.g., morning after pill)
  • STI, HIV, and syphilis testing
  • STI treatment
  • pregnancy tests
  • pregnancy options decisions support (parenting, adoption, abortion)
  • post abortion check ups
  • general information and support after a sexual assault
  • vaccine information (e.g., Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and HPV) and administration of provincially funded vaccines for eligible clients

What About The Other Pregnancy Centres I Hear About?

Unfortunately many pregnancy centres and resources advertised in public may seem like supportive pro-choice abortion resources, but in reality they have an underlying pro-life or religious stance. While these groups promise to provide full information about all pregnancy options, research has shown that many Pregnancy Care Centres can misinform, mislead, and manipulate clients seeking abortion.

If you get pregnant and want to carry the fetus? Awesome! If you get pregnant and want to seek an abortion? Rock on! What’s important is that you get the care and support you need in whatever decision you choose, and that is why we recommend the Pro-Choice Society and the Lethbridge Sexual Health Centre for support in our community.
